Partner Jeffrey A. Weissman has once again been selected to Florida Trend’s prestigious Florida Legal Elite list in the category of Adoption, Marital & Family Law. The voting process began in October 2014 when all in-state Florida Bar members were invited to participate. The list of Florida’s legal leaders, which represent fewer than 2 percent of the active Florida Bar members who practice in Florida, has been published in Florida Trend’s July 2015 special issue.
All in-state members of The Florida Bar were asked to name attorneys, who are currently licensed and practicing in Florida, whom they hold in the highest regard or would recommend to others. The ballots were processed, checked and tabulated by Bradenton, Florida-based Outsource America and EA Fernbacher LLC in St. Petersburg, Florida. Each lawyer was given a score based on the number of votes he or she received, with more weight given to votes from outside the firm.
The list of top vote recipients was further examined using membership status and histories provided by The Florida Bar. A panel of previous Legal Elite winners, representing different practice areas in cities across the state, reviewed the selection process and the list of finalists.
